“A bright landmark on the horizons of Puerto Prinsesa Palawan”

Puerto Princesa Palawan will soon be home to a new tourism beacon expected to highlight the beauty of the province with the announcement of the latest venture from Premiere Horizon Alliance (PHA).  The West Palawan Premiere (WPP) Project is a master-planned community that brings together serene mountainside resorts and gorgeous beach retreats.  Highlighted by exciting themed clubs, amenities and facilities, WPP will be a prime tourist destination in Palawan.

With the Puerto Princesa International airport targeted to be completed by January 2017 and the full blast upgrade of the Bacungan national road connecting the western portion of Puerto Princesa to the east, PHA shares in the vision of total development of the province.

In addition to PHA’s 512 hectares located in Bacungan, Puerto Princesa, WPP’s total potential area for development will be around 1,000 hectares pending PHA’s finalization of its ongoing discussions with the owners and stewards of the neighboring properties.

PHA sees that the current focus of the Puerto Princesa city government is to make the city a premier tourist destination and not just a tourist gateway for both International and local tourists. Palawan has been awarded as the “Best Island in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler for two years in a row, 2014 and 2015.  The number of tourists that have flocked the island has been growing at an average rate of 15% over the last 5 years.

Puerto Princesa City is poised to become a prime tourist haven in Palawan with tourist visitors projected to hit 2.5M tourists by the year 2025 according to the Tourism Development group of Puerto Princesa City. A target that is seemingly possible given the increase in the capacity of the airport, from the current 330,000 passengers a year, to more than 2.0M with its current expansion phase to become one of five international airports in the Philippines.

The WPP area showcases several destination white sand beaches in the vicinity of the Bacungan-Napsan area.  Situated around 30 kms away from the international airport, which is a 30-minute drive upon completion of the upgrade of the national road.

PHA aims to promote WPP as a mountain and beach side lifestyle community targeted for all tourists. Target launch is within the 3rd quarter of 2016.
